Seagate 5TB — Making Beeping Sounds

Wanted to share this case with you guys. The customer checked in a Seagate Backup Plus 5TB external drive that wasn’t mounting. Once we powered on the drive, we heard constant beeping sounds.

We opened your drive cover in our Clean Room and the situation was severe. The biggest problem is that the sliders were completely torn off the pads.

Importantly, don’t leave your drive on when you heard strange sounds. Immediately power off the drive.
