Seagate Data Recovery (ST1000DM003)

We opened a Seagate 1TB (ST1000DM003) in our Clean Room. Customer thought the drive was clicking but once we diagnosed the drive, we immediately noticed the issue was Stiction. This is where the read/write heads crash on top of the platters, not allowing them to spin and thus making those strange sounds. The read/write heads didn’t make it back onto the parking ramps and crashed on the platters. Time to work on the heads. Let’s get to work👍🏼
