We opened a Western Digital (WD20SDZW-11JJ8S0) 2TB drive in our Clean Room. The drive was beeping after the customer ejected the drive improperly. After diagnosing the drive, we discovered that the read/write heads were not stuck on the platters. The issue with the drive was clicking not beeping. Next step is to inspect the read/write heads under a microscope to see if there is any contamination. Let’s get to work!
